Jahnathan Jones is an illustrator who specializes in drawing animals and made-up creatures.

From a young age, Jahnathan has been fascinated by the multitude of forms life can take and has taken in the past. Since then, he strives to depict and create captivating creatures — from extant and extinct animals to exotic fantasy beings — in his art. When designing creatures, he keeps important characteristics in mind, ones that are easy for the viewer to spot, so they can get a sense of how the animal moves, behaves, and survives. In his practice, he pushes the boundaries of the various forms life can take by analyzing the animals of today.

Jahnathan Jones was born in the middle of Los Angeles to a small but supportive, loving family. His passion for art began after drawing the animals he saw at the L.A. Zoo. Throughout his early life, exposure to movies like Jurassic Park and games like Monster Hunter broadened his taste in subject matter to include extinct and mythical creatures as well.

Even today, much of Jahnathan's interest hasn't changed — only now, he has started to critically analyze how to de sign believable yet awe-inspiring animals in his art, while studying at California State University, Northridge.
